Project Manager - post
We usually respond within three days
Storyline Studios AS is seeking a full-time Project Manager. Storyline provides services in equipment rental and post-production. The company is in continuous development, and we are looking for people who are passionate about the Norwegian film community and want to join a dedicated team that has shaped Norwegian film for generations.
A feature film or drama series in post-production consists of dozens of interdependent processes spread over months: editorial, conform, colour, sound, mix, finishing, mastering. Each has its own prerequisites, deliverables and potential bottlenecks. We are looking for an experienced project manager who takes ownership of this chain in its entirety. This is a senior role with a high degree of independence. We are looking for a leader who drives projects forward on their own and shapes how the house operates.
About the role
You hold a coordinating responsibility across the departments. Creative judgement comes into play where process meets decision: in screenings, in spotting sessions and in milestone meetings throughout the project. Here your job is to listen to what the director, producer and creative team want — and to hold the other side of the equation. What is realistic given hours, resources and the delivery date? You translate between creative ambition and operational reality.
You work as part of a close team with our department heads in sales, sound, picture and technical. You must be able to stand independently in the role, but you always have colleagues around you who can contribute.
A significant part of the job is to build and maintain the routines that keep the house functioning over time. Checklists, project templates, status updates and documentation need to be kept current.
Key responsibilities
Daily management and booking of active projects from handover from sales, through every phase until the final master is delivered
Schedules, dependencies and prioritisation across departments
Allocation of internal resources and follow-up on bookings
Operational client contact during the project — you are the producer's and director's person at the house
Participation in screenings and spotting sessions, with responsibility for connecting creative ambition to operational feasibility. Develop a deep understanding of each project and the processes it requires
Close collaboration with the Delivery Producer on timing and prioritisation into the delivery period
Budget tracking and early flagging of deviations
Ownership of the operational routines and documentation the role depends on — you build and maintain these continuously
What we are looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience from post-production, production or coordinating roles in the film/drama environment — at a level where you have driven projects forward yourself, not merely supported someone else who did
Genuine understanding of the post-production workflow: ingest, editorial, conform, colour, sound, finishing and mastering
Understanding of delivery processes
The confidence to stand as a peer with experienced editors, colourists and sound designers
The ability to speak up when something is not working, to both clients and colleagues — without escalating unnecessarily, and without avoiding conflict because it is uncomfortable
A natural inclination to systematise: you document, create routines and build structure as part of how you work, not as an afterthought
Structured and precise, while staying composed in rooms where the stakes are high
General familiarity with post-production tools
Strong written and spoken Norwegian and English
What we offer
A central, formative role in a company moving into a new era of development
Ambitious drama and feature film projects
Competitive salary based on experience
Real independence — we expect you to own the day-to-day, not to wait for instructions
